The composition of the XXVth Constitutional Government largely reflects a commitment to continuity, albeit with some significant changes.
Between June 5 and 6, the members of the new Government led by Luís Montenegro took office. With the number of ministries reduced from 17 to 16, several portfolios underwent changes, notably Parliamentary Affairs, Economy, Internal Administration, and Culture. One of the main innovations is the creation of the Ministry for State Reform.
The Executive is now composed of 60 members: 40 men and 20 women. Of the 16 ministers, three are taking on ministerial roles for the first time – those responsible for Internal Administration, Parliamentary Affairs, and the newly created State Reform portfolio. Among the 43 Secretaries of State – two more than in the previous government – 13 are newcomers, with some internal transitions between ministries.
